The below HERS tests vary from job to job based on the type of equipment installed and the climate zone.

Duct Leakage (DB)

Leaky ducts can significantly increase electric bills, dramatically reduce equipment capacity and performance, as well as result in potentially dangerous indoor air quality problems. Leaks in forced air duct systems are a major source of energy waste in both new and existing houses. Also, duct leaks can pull pollutants and irritants into the house which create air quality problems. Testing duct leaks is extremely important if you want to maximize the energy efficiency and air quality in your home.

Cooling Coil Airflow (CCA)

The purpose of the Cooling Coil Airflow Test is to ensure each vent in your house is providing the appropriate amount of airflow to each room. This is essential as too much or too little air to a specific room can drastically affect the efficiency of your entire system. Our sophisticated equipment will verify if each room meets the standard air flow minimum outlined by Title 24 requirements.

Fan Watt Draw (FWD)

This test is required for any new installations or any modification that requires over 75% of the original duct to be replaced. This fairly simple and straightforward test determines how many watts your fan uses to power the system. We can then take the total watts used, and divide it by the total measured airflow to determine exactly how much energy takes to run the fan. This can help identify leaks and other problems associated with poor efficiency.

Refrigerant Charge Airflow (RCA)

Leaky ducts can significantly increase electric bills, dramatically reduce equipment capacity and performance, as well as result in potentially dangerous indoor air quality problems. Leaks in forced air duct systems are a major source of energy waste in both new and existing houses. Also, duct leaks can pull pollutants and irritants into the house which create air quality problems. Testing duct leaks is extremely important if you want to maximize the energy efficiency and air quality in your home.
